Documenting the Co-Ed Killer case

Ed Kemper’s fiancee

Not much is known about Kemper’s fiancee, as she has never gone public with her story. After Kemper’s arrest, she was apparently very much in shock, and went into seclusion. Her parents sent her away from Turlock. Officials at her high school, where she was in her senior year, consented to excuse her from classes until the emotional pressure on her let up, and allowed her to graduate with her class.

Police said a newspaper clipping reporting the engagement was found with Kemper’s belongings in the Aptos apartment where he lived with his mother. In his bedroom, they also found the picture of a beautiful blonde said to be a fiancee of Kemper.

We know that she had met Kemper at a Santa Cruz beach in the summer of 1972. Her age varies according to reports between 16, 17 or 18 years old. Her first name might have been Martha, but this is unverified information from a social media source.

I went to school with her and her first name was Carla. Kemper even visited the Turlock High and he was a giant. I remember him fairly well, he was quiet and friendly. I and other friends of Carla walked around with them.

Thank you for sharing this story and her name. Do you have some anecdotes of time you spent with Carla and Kemper? Things he said or did? It would be great to know more.

Please be respectful of other people who comment on our articles. It’s so easy to hide behind a fake name and e-mail address to insult people. Ms. Budd didn’t mention her full name. By the way, the fiancee gave an interview for the book Murder Capital of the World by Emerson Murray. Her name is not mentioned, but she was willing to talk a bit about what happened with Kemper. So, so much for staying anonymous.

That person did everything she could to stay anonymous but that doesn’t stop a gossiping narc like you, or matter one bit. As long as you can get your fix?
How pathetic do you have to be to look for this article to blab about it decades later?

Exactly I did not give her full name. I was basically giving my impression of how he was and the detectives described him perfectly “a gentle giant”. I can only assume those who commented negatively are either argumentative people, trolls or just antagonist. I would not disclose any info she stated not to. So no name, address or current location. I said she was a friend so you should not assume I did not have her permission to post!

      Was her last name Gervasoni?

      • Edmund Kemper Stories

No. Carla Gervasoni was Kemper’s neighbour when he lived with his mother in Aptos. Carla lived on the second floor.
