   Who knows what he’s thinking. That said, I think this pic is older than twenty-ish years ago. It’s clearly earlier than the mid-90s (1996? iirc) interview with the French author–he looks a bit younger, slimmer and healthier. My guess would be it was taken when he was around 35-40, in the 1980s. Just saying and all, no criticism implied. I’ve always been very impressed with this blog’s accuracy, neutral approach and in-depth research.
